Build your page list around customer questions. More pages are useful only when they have a distinct purpose.
The homepage introduces the route
The homepage should help visitors orient themselves. Explain the business, the audience and the main next step without trying to answer every possible question. Think of it as a useful introduction with routes into more specific information. If every service is explained in full on one long page, visitors may struggle to find the detail relevant to them.
Service pages answer specific questions
Give a substantial service its own page when the audience, process or buying questions are different. Describe what the service covers, who it is suitable for and what happens after an inquiry. Avoid creating several nearly identical pages just to repeat a location or keyword. A dedicated page should give a visitor a genuinely useful reason to read it.
About gives the business a human context
An About page can explain who runs the business, how the work is approached and what customers can expect. Use real information and photographs when available. It does not need a long autobiography or exaggerated claims. For an independent business, being clear about who performs the work can be more reassuring than trying to look like a much larger organization.
Contact should make action straightforward
Offer a clear route: form, email, phone, booking or another channel that someone actually monitors. Explain what information helps with an inquiry. Check every contact link on mobile and desktop. If you publish an address, opening hours or service area, keep those details consistent with the way the business operates.
Add supporting pages with a purpose
Work examples, a FAQ, a blog or customer resources can help when they answer a real need. An online store also needs product and transactional pages. Legal and privacy requirements depend on what the site does and where the business operates, so get appropriate advice when necessary. Begin with a clear journey, then expand when content and maintenance can support it.
